Winter Fishing
Winter fishing on the lower Niagara River offers some of the best opportunities to target steelhead, lake trout, and brown trout. Despite the cold, the river remains productive year-round thanks to its steady currents and deep waters. Winter anglers enjoy a peaceful, less crowded experience, and with the right gear and technique, the season can yield impressive catches. Whether you’re an experienced angler or a beginner, winter fishing on the Niagara River is an exciting and rewarding adventure.
There are many ways we target winter fish, we primarily target them on three way rig set ups bottom bouncing beads or egg sacs. We also fish with kwik fish aka “plugs” on three way set ups as well depending on wind and what types of bait are prevalent in the water.
